Rüya Akyol completed her education in Industrial Design and Communication Design with honors at Istanbul Technical University, Politecnico di Milano, and Domus Academy. She worked for many years in Milan with Claudio Bellini and in Paris with Philippe Starck, taking on both designer and executive roles.Building on this extensive international experience, she later founded her own studio. Rüya Akyol Studio, a Milan and Istanbul–based design and consultancy firm, provides services in product, furniture, and spatial design, as well as brand identity development and design direction.The studio’s design philosophy is rooted in evaluating products as part of a cohesive collection, aiming to create clear, consistent, and holistic brand identities. The designer’s style reflects a synthesis of contemporary Italian design and minimalist Scandinavian aesthetics.
